Job Summary

Assists dentist during examination and treatment of patients within the scope of those duties permitted by the state New Jersey.   • Obtain patient medical history and vital signs; record information in dental chart.
  • Assists dentist’s chair side during examination and treatment of patients.
  • Prepare operatory instruments and supplies for the treatment procedure(s).

  • Prepare restorative materials and cements as required and pass instruments to the dentist as requested.
  • Records notes and data in dental chart.

The primary responsibility is for the intake and registration of patients including insurance verification, fee assessment, and cashiering, presumptive eligibility for Medicaid, referrals, LOA application review and processing, scheduling appointments and data input. RN Site Manager

RN Site Manager

Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY

The RN Site Manager is responsible for directing, organizing and supervising the work of their nursing staff, which typically includes registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), and Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs). They also coordinate nursing efforts to ensure that effective patient care is being provided and that quality standards are met. The RN Site Manager works collaboratively with providers and support staff to ensure the smooth and efficient operations of the department in order to provide quality patient care and meet the goals and objectives established by the Newark Community Health Center.

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Essential duties/responsibilities include the following as well as other duties that may be assigned:

  • Ensures smooth flow of patients through the Health Center.
  • Orders and stocks medical and office supplies ensuring a sufficient inventory.
  • Oversees the timely and accurate reconciliation of clinical encounters and daily cash receipts.
  • Ensures completion of daily syringe count: tally sheets.
  • Ensures timely completion of all clinical logs and reports.
  • Completes and submits monthly reports to Director of Nursing.
  • Participates in various healthcare collaboratives.

Additional Essential Job Functions:

  • Full-Time employment requires the ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Ability to work on weekends (Saturdays or Sundays)
  • Ability to work on a rotating shift schedule
  • Overtime, and standby status may be required at times to meet operational and patient care needs
  • Ability to work at various sites (all site locations are in Essex County)
  • Assist with clinical outreach when needed

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervises all nursing staff including CMA, LPN’s and Medical Clerks

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and completion of an accredited nursing program as a registered nurse, RN (BSN or MSN preferred).
  • New Jersey license as a registered nurse.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • A minimum 3 years of ambulatory care in an FQHC setting preferred.
  • Three to five of supervisory experience as a registered nurse in an ambulatory or acute care setting
  • The ideal candidate will have demonstrated ability and excellent skills to independently carry out assignments and nursing tasks; proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, patient registries, and web-based tools and the use of an EHR; strong knowledge of medical terminology and relevant procedures; excellent written, electronic and oral communication skills; and strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment is essential. Oral and written proficiency in English is a must.

Job Summary

The incumbent performs various customer service duties including greeting and welcoming patients, responding to general inquiries, providing general information on NCHC and its various services, directing patients to appropriate services and resources, providing interpretation for non-clinical discussions (if appropriate), assisting with the distribution, explanation, and collection of patient satisfaction surveys, taking information from patients for various reports and forms, and assuring timely flow of patients through patient cycle time. Individuals in this assignment may have routine access to individually identifiable health information including patients’ entire medical records on a need-to-know basis only. All employees of NCHC are responsible to practice good risk management, quality assurance, and deliver excellent internal and external customer service. All employees must understand and exemplify the organization’s mission, vision, and core values.

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Essential duties/responsibilities include the following as well as other duties that may be assigned:

  • Greets and welcomes patients.
  • Determines nature of patients’ visits for appropriate processing.
  • Schedules appointments and maintains appointment calendars for providers.
  • Explains Health Center policy including payment of accounts and determines fee for service based on sliding fee schedule.
  • Disseminates information to patients, staff and others as appropriate.
  • Assists patients with the completion and validation of all patients’ forms and documents including regular updates of information.
  • Assists with enrollment of patients in Letter of Agreement (LOA) and Presumptive Eligibility for Medicaid for women and children.
  • Directs patients to appropriate services.
  • Keeps abreast of patients in patient traffic flow and assists those who are delayed through patient cycle time.
  • Assists with language interpretation as appropriate in non-clinical discussions.
  • Assists with distribution, explanation, completion, and collection of patient satisfaction survey.
  • Takes patient information for the completion of various forms and reports.
  • Distinguishes individuals who may be the victims of bioterrorism or other contamination and responds accordingly.
  • Immediately alerts nurse manager or designee for triage of any patient who presents in crisis.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Two to three years related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Haitian Creole a plus.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency with working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (previous knowledge of electronic practice management and medical records helpful).

Physician - Obstetrics & Gynecology

Job Summary

This physician provides women’s health services according to the guidelines established by the American College of OB/GYN (ACOG) and NCHC policies. The incumbents in this job have routine access to individually identifiable health information including the patients’ entire medical records on a need-to-know basis only. All employees of NCHC are responsible to practice good risk management, quality assurance, and deliver excellent internal and external customer service. All employees must understand and exemplify the organization’s mission, vision, and core values.

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performs primary care and women’s health services.
  • Prepares and reviews case histories and obtains data through patient interviews.
  • Participates in the provider on-call schedule.
  • Performs hospital deliveries and other surgical/emergent procedures.
  • Performs office-based procedures.
  • Educates patients on procedures performed and the importance of follow-up.
  • Maintains accurate and legible medical records in compliance with NCHC policies.
  • Prescribes medications and therapies for treatment and preventative care.
  • Assist in the development of department policies and procedures.
  • Collects in-patient invoices and submits them to the CMO’s office on a timely basis.
  • Participates in department and Clinical Services meetings.
  • Participates in health initiatives and Collaboratives that may require supervision of other NCHC personnel in the group’s efforts.
  • Meets patient utilization standards set by NCHC.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy with a valid NJ license to practice medicine, NJ CDS and federal DEA and NPI.
  • Board Eligible/Certified in the area of Obstetrics & Gynecology.
  • Considerable knowledge of state and federal public health laws specifically in regard to Medicine.
