The Newark Community
Health Centers, Inc. (NCHC) has served as a health care
resource for the prevention and amelioration of health
disparities in Essex County, New Jersey since October 2,
1986. NCHC is one of the largest providers of comprehensive
primary care services for the uninsured and medically underserved
populations in the country’s
most densely populated cities.
Over the Past 20 years, Newark Community Health Centers,
Inc. has grown and has added additional services, increasing
the number of medical specialist to compliment the care for
our growing population. NCHC has expanded its reach through
Newark, East Orange, Orange, Irvington and the surrounding
neighborhood cities. These cities possess a highly concentrated
population of residents of African American and Latino decent,
with a growing number immigrating from South And Central
America as well as the Caribbean and Africa.
Today, NCHC serves more than 19,000 patients of all ages
annually. The total care program provides adult
and family medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics,
dentistry, optometry, podiatry and an Ear, Nose and Throat
Specialist. Additional services include social work support
services, HIV Testing & Counseling, Nutritional Counseling
and Outreach services. |
